Three short posts made earlier today to that Twitter-knockoff:

Much of the time when people publish posts, statuses, and tweets they don't want mental engagement, but rather emotional commiseration. A point that needs to be remembered always.

Can anybody really understand how websites are able to get more hits, visits, and subscribers? I think it's as much a mystery as ... well, you fill in the blank.

Some sites are slow, have little activity, so when I participate a lot, I overwhelm them. That's why I like posting here. I can do it all day long and not bother anybody. :)

You may like Starbucks, but you'd never be in an ad for the company, right? You might be in one unawares -- on Facebook. On Tuesday evening the social-networking giant quietly rolled out a new advertising model that sells your activity -- your likes, your words and data about the places you visit -- as advertisements your friends see. 

And you thought Facebook was a free service, just because Zuckerberg was a nice guy ...
