Three short posts made earlier today to that Twitter-knockoff:
Much of the time when people publish posts, statuses, and tweets they don't want mental engagement, but rather emotional commiseration. A point that needs to be remembered always.
Can anybody really understand how websites are able to get more hits, visits, and subscribers? I think it's as much a mystery as ... well, you fill in the blank.
Some sites are slow, have little activity, so when I participate a lot, I overwhelm them. That's why I like posting here. I can do it all day long and not bother anybody. :)
I was using a #Twitter knock-off to post all kinds of little tidbits. I'd grouse and grumble there, too. But it felt like a room with padding. Better to get out of there. Looked at all my options, and figured this was the best place to come back to. Just wish I could post without a title. Then again, maybe I can ... let's try it and see what happens.
I've abandoned #FireFox, using Safari and Opera at the moment, but I don't know if they'll really serve me. Am missing some key functions. This has shaken up much of what I do on the Internet. As well as other well-worn neural paths. I need to update my OS, but that will have to wait. In the meantime. ...
My Forthright Magazine editorial from Jan. 13, "Indecision keeps us from participating in the victory," was included in the March, 2014, issue of Bulletin Digest.
The BD usually reprints material from printed church bulletins, but the editor apparently pulled my article directly from the FMag website.
Not all my writing gets mentioned here. These lyrics were missed as well, Would You Speak of Him? To the old tune of "Would You Live for Jesus?" So for those millions of you who follow this site but not my main blog, here's the link.
Also, watch the upcoming issue of Sermon Tree for more of my poems. More on that soon.
Also, in the February edition of Bulletin Gold, the editor published, from my UPLift list, the poem, "Is There No Conversation?"
I believe this is the second issue in which I've had poetry published. Matt Clifton is the editor, who brings good stuff to preachers and teachers. Check it out!
If an article is tagged with "Author Unknown," I don't read it. It's a lack of respect to remove an author's name and to republish something from which an author's name has been removed.
I've been wanting some simple songs. I thought chants might provide a path. Gregorian, not good. Is this Greek Orthodox modern chant a possibility?
