Sometimes we spend more time talking about proofs for the existence of #God than we do proving his presence in our lives to those who need to hear the #gospel.
I may use this verse for a near-future devotional:
I am Yahweh, that is My name;
I will not give My glory to another
or My praise to idols. (Isa 42.8 HCSB)
A bit ironic that most translations put LORD in the place of his name.
Protestors have blocked off the access to the São Paulo international airport. No vehicles are getting in or out, apparently, according to the Estadão website. Police have started shooting up in the air. Three vehicles were attacked. How far will this go?
There were protests yesterday and today here in SJCampos, most downtown and around the Dutra highway. So far, all is quiet in our part of town.
And Brad Pitt has cancelled a trip to Brazil because of the protests. So there.
We are the generation of causes — whales, trees, petroleum, pets, and passing meteorites — because we have rejected the First Cause. #causes
The head of the Roman church had a good sermon — I liked this part especially — until the last line.
What is the image we have of God? Perhaps he appears to us as a severe judge, as someone who curtails our freedom and the way we live our lives. But the Scriptures everywhere tell us that God is the Living One, the one who bestows life and points the way to fullness of life. I think of the beginning of the Book of Genesis: God fashions man out of the dust of the earth; he breathes in his nostrils the breath of life, and man becomes a living being (cf. 2:7). God is the source of life; thanks to his breath, man has life. God’s breath sustains the entire journey of our life on earth.

Probably the best and most important piece I'll write all day.
May we to your Messiah fly
O God of peace who freely shares,
In fretful hearts come reign;
We leave before your throne our cares,
Our hurts, our fears, our pain.
Do people have something against reading (and amening) prayers online?
This sad news from Christian Medical Fellowship:
A consensus among members of the Belgian Federal Parliament has reportedly formed in support of legislation to allow children to choose to undergo euthanasia in certain dire cases, according to a report in the Belgian daily newspaper Der Morgen, as translated by the Paris-based news agency Presseurop.
Abortion and euthanasia are twin ethical problems that inch toward one another from opposite ends of the life stream. They are now meeting in the middle, it would appear.
Thumbs up! You now can vote for a post,
Or say a word either good or bad;
Our thanks to our Posthaven host,
We want to see what our readers add.
I love the concept of this writing site, Writer: the internet typewriter. The simplicity and the color scheme (which can be changed) frees me to imagine. And I like the sound of the manual typewriter. Throwback, I know. (Here's a similar one, DarkCopy.)
Another new one which I've just discovered is Draft. You might try it out as well.
These let you concentrate on content, not formatting. Just what the Muse ordered.
For the Thirst for God FB group.
Early will I seek you, Lord,
At dawn of day,
To hear you in the blessed Word,
And to you pray.
I seek your strength in dawn's weak light,
For all that follows,
To lean upon your saving might
That feeds the swallows.
First in heart and first in time,
To you I come,
Your fullest life to me sublime,
Both part and sum.
